i just woke and its pretty cold outside. i havent opened the window yet, but i somehow know it and im listening to these six tracks again and try to make an approximation of why and how i have done this ep. they are pretty different from each other but tell the same story or at least are part of the same one as a matter of fact. maybe they were done as an excuse for my overdue album which is scheduled again for this year or maybe just because i was going through some odd times and needed to immerse myself in doing something. in this case music. more the latter i guess. ok so, the opening track is in a way the end of an era and the last one the opening of a fresher one. and the rest fills in the gaps in between those two moments i guess. i hate conceptual things anyways. i never know or want to know why i do certain things. concepts define something before it already begins its existence and trying to explain why is pretty useless. so here it is. the recording of a certain period of time in my tiny existence. with collaborations with jaw (dop), my brother atilla, who is also responsible for the artwork, and jonny cruz. by the time its out itll be a distant memory for me but hope it lasts a bit longer for anyone that listens to it

having opened 2011 with the splendid debut by young and talented ana helder from rosario (argentina), comeme is back with its third release this year and is as usual a display of unpindownable style that demonstrates once again these musicians have a firm understanding of rhythms and dancing and, most of all, want to communicate to very different people and not just to a certain musical context. chilean pop is a true special ep that digs up comemes connections in santiago de chile and sees some of the most beloved artists of the label remixing a couple of bands from the current and awfully exciting underground chilean pop music scene, a real breeding ground of young music talents at the moment.

after a few years releasing singles under different monikers, brooklyn producer lou teti launches his own label, tigers on a leash, with the debut >get away< as a certain way to kick things off right. the original is an almost hypnotic electro-builder with an 80s touch, yet with a sound thats still firmly planted in 2011. even though tetis vocals are used more like another instrument than as a center piece, sneaking in and out against the guitars and synths, it s still the kind of memorable vocal line that you will find ringing in your head as you wake up. drop out orchestras club cut is a just that, a cut to get any club moving. in true doo style, they take a great original and create something special, but completely different. jkrivs deep&disco mix takes deep to a new low, with a breakdown thats truly epic. and finally theres mario basanovs remix. a beautiful deep house groover like only mario can supply.

never losing the musics immediate physicalness out of sight, the driving, bass-heavy energy of alex picones tracks set club floors on fire. still in his twenties, hes been a dj for fifteen years. having never aimed at quick fame, his career is exemplary in its endurance and commitment: he hosted parties in his hometown of padua and became resident at seminal italian clubs. after a stopover on ibiza he now resides in berlin. alex picones first record under his real name is also his first release on cadenza and his most successful so far. the three tracks of fahrenheit tie in with the overboiling force of floppy and furby. while the rattling snaredrum adds a humorous touch, the uplifting groove of inside out pushes on the limits of the energy levels of contemporary house music. yet the heart of the track is the relentless bassline, which liquefy ones body and melds the crowd and the whole club in one torrential stream of tension. with lost in burning man, alex picone fuses an oldschool electro groove in his house beats. this unexpected encounter might remind one of kevin saundersons hiphouse sound. but instead of indulging in nostalgia, the breakbeats add a provoking, startling touch to the track. with the rotary bassline and the playful jaws harp of mandarin, the ep ends on a comical note. alex picones second cadenza is a challenge to a certain house sound that became too accommodating and glossy. his musics driving force pushes the crowd beyond the threshold of the established into a space of limitless indulgence

the fruhstucks sophomore release with racecar is a 180 degree turn from hats & cats. this is a far more refined yet purposely less polished release, still rife with emotion yet embodying a certain grace and maturation. much of this could be due to instrumentation. the fruhstucks have added strings to their vision with the addition of guitars by miguel boxerinlove and subsequently sutja gutierrez also plucking strings himself.

highly talented demarkus lewis (bluem, lowdown, moods n grooves) with a 4 tracker perfectly balanced between chicago and westcoast house - very musical with strong pounding b-lines, nice synth melodies and atmospheres but always with the certain oomph the dancefloor is craving for.

a1 fur elodie is a cheapy guitar tune combined with the piano to form acoustic sound. other elements are also quite cheapy but sounds very good altogether as a confortable track. a very atmospheric tune to hypnotize people into fumiyas deeper side. the original version is on his album unknown 3 released in 2008. b1 ring bell is a track combined an acoustic loopy drum with a modular bass sound to form a kind of rare groove. a kind of chant starts coming in out at certain points to take you somewhere you have never been before. b2 dealer trick (short version) has got a kind of old school flavour and sounds quite like 90s house with fumiyas dirty, cheeky, and loopy groove. a trick for jack in the box

simoncino (aka nick anthony) from italian super edit label no more hits crosses the atlantic and finds a new home with on the prowls sub-label party breaks. what immediately stands out upon first listen is the production style, not being able to tell what is a sample and what has been replayed… much like tensnakes mega hit. the simoncino sound is firmly rooted in proto-house and 80s r&b. with ingredients like ancient drum machines, arpeggiated melodies, and cheap 80s pads, his concoction boils over with a certain cheekiness that makes listeners grin from ear to ear. all four tracks are subtle hits in their own right. excellent ep!

it is about time for a record from label founder dario zenker. dont ask why it took so long, but be sure it wasnt the last one. and what a record this is, after several great releases on labels like vakant, harry klein records or time to express, dario’s debut on his own imprint is another example for his unique and mature sound. his studio just as his music has grown over the years. 10 am sounds like an earthquake, raw and dirty, it builds up so much energy that even babensham starts to shake. farrel on the other side is best described as deep break beat techno. it shows the diversity of darios productions and diversity combined with a certain signature is a great mix in our opinion. so enjoy it or not, dance or put your hands in your pockets, share some love or be a hater, no matter what we like u.

2000 watt take any number of watts, in our case 2000, add a few tasteful sounds, refines the whole with a driving bass, and at the end rounded with a grandiose arrangement. brian sanhaji realized it perfectly in his track >2000 watt< and asked to table. fucking shot the b-side, as is known, the quieter part. >fucking shot< is not. rather, we have another highlight of the techno genre. attemporal proves with his track, that a certain hardness in music, fullfil the feeling on the dancefloor.

he is one of the most productive creative minds of this time segment and while constantly releasing a great amount of tracks, his music does not sound like the work of a mechanic following a certain formula. boris force roots from a unique style that has a focus on diversity and still you recognize his hand-writing while listening to his tricky arrangements and breaks that are different as they can be.

new label foto recordings launches with two reworks from glasgows ooft! music. showcasing some seriously deep house on the a-side, ride in to the red zone is ooft!s homage to those early 90s new york dons. meanwhile on the flip a certain classic disco jam gets reworked into a simple club banger courtesy of some chopped samples and added hardware. simple but effective.

here comes edwards follow-up ep. this time he goes a slightly deeper and more direct. it might be the purest music we ve ever heard from the berlin-based producer. all the crazy clubgigs are manifested into hi music now. of course still with the classical edward style somewhere between dark minimal and trancy deephouse aesthetics. >bush of crows< is somewhat of a siginature edward track. but a very rough one this time. with a comfortable paranoia, this track unfolds itself into a little peak time extravaganza. on the flip, he cools everything down with a warm house tune called >the ghetto< and he adds a certain >blockparty romantic< to it... b2. is once again one of those more minimal edward tracks were he masters to be on point with just the core essence o sounds. edward remains a real romantic for sure...

tornado wallace is the alter ego of a certain mr lewie day, hailing from melbourne and having recently started making great waves following excellent releases on murmur, 8bit and herzlich. tornado wallace pushes down the deeper, detroit-inspired route which is why he approached us here at delusions with these very special tracks.

>scrub the tub< with its crowd baiting piano riff and floor shattering bassline is a certain smash. as is >beat the dirt< on the flip with its disco flavoured, funk guitar mastery.

midnight marauder, is rolling techno fuzzing with a teetering bass line, reggae sirens and jamaican patois adlibs. typical of the two involved, its decidedly grey area - impossible to categorise if you tried. one thing about this track is certain though – its primed for peak time on the dancefloor, with swung drum rhythms and a snaking acid line that wont quit.

this scottish producer puts trapez ltd again on the techno map. after a couple of more housy releases on trapez ltd this release is a tougher one.&#8232,,circular star works techno a bit in a post detroit fashion... the sounds smells of industrial sites, burned rubber and has that certain sexy machine rhythm to it which we always felt was the jeff mills factor. they have little glamour about them, they are true and a direct force.

basti grub is a specialist for extraordinary and outstanding productions. loving music from his early childhood on. he seems to have a different approach to electronic dance music. these 3 tunes here are combining afro beats with wonderful rhythm driven latino tech house sounds, spanish guitars and smooth but subtle vocals and melodies. its also a bit different from his usual productions concentrating more on rhythm & drums than usually. he left certain elements and hooks out to let the groove develop and this is probably the best thing he could ever do.

chicago house legend ron trent rocks the brazilian rhythms. three tracks of house meets samba. bahia features keyboards by sean wallace from soul people. the flip feats sex games and sensual drums, two azymuth inspired works that are certain to bring everyone to the dance floor.

right on the heels of aux-records enthusiastically received 1st release featuring very contemporary revisits of the 1950s classic >fever< by franco cinelli and club rayo, this 2nd chapter of the aux-rec project travels to different eras, into different styles. and this is precisely what we had set to do: zig-zag through dance music history in search of personal favorites and classics to be revisited or refreshed. for the present release, we travel to two distinct dates: 1989 for the a-side, and 1979 for the b-side. two tracks that are 10 years apart, but that both share a fiercely upbeat and affirmative musical profile, as well as a certain ageless, core, compositional quality.

marco passarani has done the honours on the flip side. a workaholic from the eternal city of rome, marco is the linchpin of the italian techno scene. he produces under the aliases js pool, monomorph and ambit 3 for the labels skam, hymen, clone and peacefrog, and also runs his own labels plasmek, pigna and nature records marcos >fall into me< remix is unmistakably influenced by hiscarefully nurtured detroit roots. however, he employs these stylistic elements very discreetly, retains beats, melody and vocals in his arrangement, takes out a little of the decorative padding from the album, then finally hits us with a wonderful, trancey eight-tone sequence to send us into the realm of dancefloor dreams for ever.

deep a & biri have been involved in the tel aviv house scene for some time. with this 3 track ep plus digital bonus track they give their debut now.
>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.

smaul recordings should not be suggestive of being fed by productions of acid pauli, only. however, creative times need being used and martin gretschmann - aka console - member of the notwist - alias acid pauli has collected lots of material whilst the scarce time left last year. on smaul 07 he follows his self-weaved red thread of the year. acid pauli confides more & more in a certain house rhythm paired with these melancholic layered sound-synthesis, already well known by him. astonishing things emerge out of acid paulis musical waves, sometimes even scientially croon quite a bit. nymbiotic (a) comes relaxed but holds a great melody up in the sleeve - seasonly peppered. symbiotic (b) rests bit on minimal house, but acid pauli never relied on that genre. thus, this track does not remain as it seems after three minutes. glitches and sounds break it up to evolve a new symbiosis. symbiotic becomes more timeless in spite of siren-climax peaks and an obsessive string chorus fading in the end.
